If you are a seasoned vaper, then you must be familiar with the Joyetech brand, thanks to its famous eGo AIO, which was dubbed as the best starter-level vaping device on the market in 2017. But the brand never stopped there, producing many Joyetech vape pods, starter kits, and other devices.

In this review, we’ll be looking at the Joyetech Exceed D19 Starter Kit. This device is meant to cater to beginners in the industry who are looking to switch to vaping. It possesses all the things a vaper beginner needs.

The first thing I noticed is how this device has the exact same size as the eGo AIO at 118 mm tall and 19 mm wide.

One nice thing about this device is that its 19-mm tank with adjustable airflow is not only removable but also compatible with other devices. Its capacity is 2mL and features a top-filling system. You can refill the tank by simply unscrewing the Delrin top cap.

Adjusting its airflow is as easy as turning the ring at the bottom part of the tank. Now, the tank only has airflow on one side, but interestingly, it has two styles of slots. The classic cyclops slot provides direct-lung vaping, while the three small holes are for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping. The adjustable ring contains stoppers on each side to ensure you can set your airflow preference accordingly.

The kit includes two coils. Although sub-ohm vapers would likely find it likable, there is no stopping you from experiencing very restrictive draws if you combine the MTL coil with the MTL-style airflow slots. But if your style is more about producing vapor, then the 0.5-ohm direct lung coil will suit you.

The appearance of the Joyetech Exceed D19 is quite simple and uncomplicated. It only has a plastic firing button and a micro-USB port for vaping.

Under the hood is a cylindrical 1500 mAh battery. Since the device only fires between 3.7 and 4.2 volts, the battery power is decent.

I love the fact that Joyetech still integrated a LED ring to indicate battery life. A steady red light indicates the battery life is between 60% and 100%, and when it starts to flash slowly, it means its level is between 30% and 59%. Moderate red light flashing indicates the battery is 10% to 29%, and fast flashing means your device is going to be out of power soon.

Although this is not a variable wattage vaping device, the Exceed D19 boasts of two modes, including direct output and constant voltage. A long press on the power button when the battery is turned off will enable you to switch between the two modes. Not sure what mode you are in? Check the LED light. A white-colored LED ring means direct out, whereas an orange light signifies voltage. How convenient can that be, right?

Now, let us tackle these two modes. The direct output means the battery releases the actual voltage, which starts at 4.2 volts when fully charged and then all the way down to below 3.7 volts. In short, the vapor production continues to decrease until the battery dies down.

Constant voltage, on the other hand, maintains a constant voltage all throughout until the battery dies down.

With so many features in tow, the Joyetech Exceed D19 does not disappoint. Overall, this is a versatile good starter-level device. For the price of only $37.50, you can get this device at the Joyetech online store.
